We are a small family-owned hostel. We opened in August 2019, the middle of the peak season and just before what would become the Covid year. We travelled ourselves giving us an idea of what makes a good experience in a hostel, but still, stepping on the other side of the curtain made us realize that staying in a hostel and working in a hostel are two different things :)
After registering online, getting our first reservation was quite a surprise, and seeing those people actually arriving even more. We had basic organisation, and no proper tools, but a real passion and a communicative energy. We will be forever grateful for those first guests who trusted us, supported us and for some, even left a part part of their soul in our walls.
Over the years, we learned, we grew and we are still growing to share this passion with more people. We love travelers, we are convinced that traveling, even for a short period, makes people better. Our wish is that more people pack bags, visit the unknown places and leave their comfort zone behind. This would make us as a society more open, tolerant and inclusive.
In the reading direction, Laura, the designer as much of the hostel as it's destiny, Miklosné the lighthouse in the dark, cook and mental support, Julien, who appears where it's needed, incidentally webmaster and Mila, the real boss!
We travelled ourselves, we've been on that journey showing outside but really happening inside. Starting a hostel led us to step back from that experience and realise that we are no exception. There really is a pattern coming over and over among travellers: they are either running away or running after something. Starting a new career, moving to a remote country, answering a spiritual call, healing from an old pain, or whatever life-changing process, it takes time, courage and perseverance to event start understanding what is happening. If you are travelling you might be on that path, maybe without even knowing it. By offering a clean, comfortable and peaceful environment, we want to help you take one step in the right direction. A single step, as insignificant it might seem to you means the world for us and comforts us in our mission.
Bikers, we do like you. For your adventurous spirit, your slow pace that opens to details and hidden beauties. Unfortunately we do not have a locked space designated for biked.
You can park inside the building though, away from public reach, but at your own risk. Sometimes the building door is left open, so still lock your steed and do not leave removable bags on it.
Also, it is always good for us to know it in advance, especially if you pedal in group 🙏
We do not provide towels, but you can rent one from us for 1€ or 500HUF or a chocolate bar.
We used to provide towels for every guest and at this time we used to wash loads and loads of unused, clean towels. And some that were used. Then we decided to save some water and energy and the planet thank us for that
And yes, we like chocolate
